Activated Carbon Filtration
The filtration with activated carbon detains substances that remain in the filtering medium after the mechanical separation of solid particles. In a finished project, mechanical impurities were filtered through a prefilter in the form of a multiple filter cartridge housing with meltblown filter cartridges. After that the same housing was used with activated carbon filter cartridges for the adsorption of different dissolved substances:
Activated carbon has a large inner surface which enables it to remove dissolved substances. Furthermore, carbon is a reducing agent that can remove various oxidizing agents from different liquids.

Filter Discs
Filter discs are often used for the purification of process baths in electroplating. They are available as fabric or felt versions with wide-ranging grammages and dimensions. Furthermore they are offered as filter papers with different surface weights - typical are e.g. 90 g/m² or for a finer filtration 400 g/m². There are also activated carbon designs which are used for the removal of toxic substances.

Air Filter Housings
Our air filters come with the right housings. Whether compact filters, HEPA filters or pocket filters - the appropriate housings are available in many different variants:

Filter Cloth Variants
Filter cloths for filter presses are for sale in numerous variants. The strongest effect on the filtration has the filter fabric. Apart from this, there are many more options.
In order to avoid the filter fabric from premature tearing in the section of the cloth holding pins, it can be reinforced with incorporated stainless steel or brass eyelets.
A drip-tight design can prevent fluids from leaking. Therefore, a sealing element that seals between filter plate elements, is sewn into the filter fabric.
Further applications like edge coatings, felt seals, bolt circle reinforcements or cam reinforcements are feasible as well. Please contact us for your personal filter cloth quote!

Filter Discs
A cylinder with shorter length compared to its diameter is called a blank or disc. Accordingly a filter blank or filter disc is such an object with a filter element. They are available in any desired dimensions and shapes. The steel and stainless steel versions are very common. Depending on the application, one or more wire mesh or nonwoven layers with filtration fineness grades from 3 µm to 10 mm are applicable:
- Filtration of extruded polymers
- Elements for the solid-liquid filtration
- Air filtration

Despite the straightforward filtration principle of the standard design (filtration from inside to outside through one layer) und the relatively simple structure, the microfiltration with filter bags can become quite complex due to countless variants:

Pleated Stainless Steel Filter Elements
In a current project we constructed pleated stainless steel filter elements for one of our customers. They will be used in oil for the protection of a downstream pump. In contrast to the conventional cylindrical design, this construction shows a larger filter surface by 2200 % which results in an improved lifetime.
In addition to special constructions we offer various standardized filters made from stainless steel. Different designs are feasible:
- Stainless steel, carbon steel, galvanized steel, copper, brass phosphor bronze, special alloys
from 3 µm to 10 mm
- customized dimensions, sealings and connections (e.g. DOE, with thread, ...)

Modular Filter Bag Housings
For applications in which size 2 filter bag housings cannot ensure sufficient flow through there are several "bigger" solutions. Apart from multi bag filter housings available for 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 17 and 23 filter bags, it is possible to choose a modular version:
- Available with 2 to 8 filter bag housings
- Flexibly extendable at all times
- Space-saving
- Filter bag replacement possible during ongoing operation due to ball valves

Influencing factors for liquid filtration
There are several parameters in liquid filtration which influences both choice and construction of your filtration system.
Besides operating conditions (temperature, pressure and flow) you should pay attention to the operating media. Thereby chemical resistancy and viscosity are important elements.
Type, amount and size of particles and the filtration fineness as a result for the desired quality of filtration are responsible for the development of the pressure drop. The pressure drop itself is a defining factor for your filtration system.
Additionally operating costs are one of the most important points for the end users itself, while the choice between continuous and batch filtration is commonly defined by the process.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE FILTRATION
2017 has arrived a couple of weeks ago and we would like to start it off with a short overview of our product range for the food and beverage filtration:
Our filter nonwovens with FDA certification are limited to polyester spunbonds with excellent mechanical properties and high temperature stability. They are therefore perfectly suitable for example for the filtration of hot oils.
There are a lot more products available in the field of filter bag, filter cartridge and filter cloth filtration. This variety also reflects the application possibilities. Monofil filter cloths for wine, juice or beer filtration; filter cartridges and filter bags for the sugar production or also beverage filtration.
