Drainage cloths are used in different thicknesses depending on the application. They increase the permeability of the contact areas on the supporting nubs/bars of the chamber filter plate. This provides the filtrate a significantly larger filter surface and the possibility of faster drainage at the same filtration fineness.
Hence the lifetime of the cloths is extended and their changing intervals as well as the downtimes of the filter presses are decreased. Thus a drier filter cake can be achieved. These cloths wear very slowly and therefore have a much higher service life compared to filter cloths which makes their acquisition profitable within a short period of time.
